Some addendums & post-script notes to this... https://twitter.com/NightErrantry/status/1133471715172859904?s=19
Gabriel Sánchez -who more or less has retired from online discourse & CathSocial Teaching debate- was one of the builders of the Josias dot com. He summarized the illiberal/liberal catholic stand off very well here

I heard a lot of whispers about a schism in an early Josias Facebook group over Liz Bruenig & the brand of "a religious left, a catholic left". A spät with some of the nasty personalities known here today made Gabe refocus on other things
The point is the Josias, while always dry and academic, wasn't always posting
pieces using flimsy schooman syllogisms to justify mass immigration. I remember being in a hotel room with a college friend telling me about that project when it was still embryonic- sad.

Another post-script worth mentioning that I didn't in the main thread: the rise of the woke
pro-life movement & its adjacency with LeftCathism. The events i describe in the main thred tie into this bizarre pastel hair feminist "pro-life" movement

Everything in a time of crisis, influence over what the next active practical catholics of the future look like, the soft power of an institution in a period of diminution, the very presentation & interpretation of Doctrine is for grabs in this era or the church.
