Ok, lets discuss... this is crucial to understand China and its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)

China is moving up the world’s manufacturing chain and relocating ITS labor intensive industries to countries with cheaper wages...and those countries become good clients for Chinese made high-speed rail, nuclear power plants, etc

In 2015 China launched "Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank" (AIIB) = financing for other countries multilateral dev banks.
As of now it has +/- 80 members & about $100 billion, 30 billion of that is what China has given it.

Enormous infrastructure contracts are incredibly complex to draft/apply/arbitrate. As of now there seems to be +/- 8000 contracts within "BRI" and in the EARLY days....it seems that these would all go to either
Singapore arbitration, Hong Kong International Arbitration Center or
Singapore arbitration, Hong Kong International Arbitration Center or
the International Chamber of Commerce. But this will quickly change, reality does that - so in these early days the National courts of any country including China will NOT likely be held in effect. But that WILL change very quickly...
China has rolled out the Supreme People’s Court will establish “international commercial courts” in three cities:
1. Xi’an to cover the cross-continental land portion of the BRI
2. Shenzhen to cover the BRI’s maritime routes
3. Beijing, to serve as the courts’ headquarters.

The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade created the “Belt and Road International Dispute Management Center,” which will assist arbitration centers like the one already being used in Qianhai.
One thing that's almost always overlooked when discussing China vs USA is the role of the body of laws, courts, mediation, and enforcement. But, it all starts with the contract, what language it will be in, if more than one language which will be the ruling document....
Frequently contracts are written into several languages, but effectively the 'rest' are ceremonial, gives leaders some paper to sign for the pomp, but holds no real legal weight. There is often little equivalency between legal terms like 'injunction""jurisdiction""WITNESSETH"
This is the case in Africa. Recitals cannot create case laws/governing laws that don't exist. Ditto obligations/intentions that concern future conduct.

What is certain is that in Africa, which is how I began this quick thread, the high professional language will certainly include Chinese and likely that can force other languages out.
