Yesterday rush limbaugh was awarded the presidential medal of freedom.

In sixth grade, I was homeschooled and forced to listen to Rush Limbaugh perform his radio show for three hours every day. The only freedom this man displays is the sort where people cower under the first amendment and pretend it should excuse their hate speech.
Rush has an audience of 15 million daily. He poisoned the American political discourse by teaching a large voting bloc that one side of America was not just someone who disagreed with them, but subhuman enemies.
He is racist against every group imaginable, homophobic, misogynistic, and disseminates these vitriolic ideas for hours every day to a really large audience. He has had a horrible influence on so many.

I think the award of the medal of freedom to Limbaugh unfortunately represents the spirit of hate that has saturated this presidency. I feel deeply sad for every community whose freedom has been diminished and who have been the recipient of hate spread by this man.
