The recent media appearance of Cynthia Ritchie has exposed her and her lies transparently. Her accusation against Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani is he allegedly gave her a “hug” in front a delegation of “Pakistani-Americans” in the Presidency. This is ridiculous.1/16
The @MediaCellPPP has fought against harassment of women, misogyny and patriarchy and remains committed to do so in the future. However, reputations built over 4 decades of public life cannot be allowed to be smeared by allegations without presenting even a shred of evidence.2/16
Even more importantly, her blatant lies which stand exposed will be used by misogynists and victim blamers to undermine the legitimate claims of Pakistani women.3/16
She has not given any details about the alleged “hug” in full public view in the Presidency.Credible journalists such as @HabibAkram and others have narrated account of a public gathering where she introduced herself to Yousaf Raza Gilani and Gilani Sb asking her who she was.4/16
She claims to have been a victim of assault and that claim needs to be investigated. However, she has to explain why she continued to undermine women expressing concerns about safety in Pakistan by saying Pakistan is “absolutely safe for women.”5/16

She has repeatedly attacked women of Pakistan, including Shaheed BB, @BakhtawarBZ , @Asma_Jahangir, @Malala, @sherryrehman and many others for speaking up for women rights in Pakistan. 7/16
In her media appearance with @MalickViews,she says, “I am an American and in America it is not like in Pakistan... In Pakistan people can be bought.”All of us make legitimate criticisms of Pakistani society however we don’t need this colonial mindset condescension and insult.8/16
The discrepancies in her other accounts are several and glaring. In one interview she claims she has no specific recollection of the alleged encounter with Rehman Malik and in another she remembers exact words.9/16
We are and will remain very careful in our response to not undermine the problem of sexual assault. However, slanderous lies and colonial superiority complex will be responded to with the full force of the law.10/16
She says she doesn’t believe the FIA and law enforcement agencies and will present “evidence” before a “higher forum.” Same investigating agencies which have put PPP leaders in prison. 11/16
Cynthia wants to imply she has invisible backers and her “teams” are looking into things. We are confident that she has no support from any of our respected institutions and is giving a false impression to create discord.12/16
She has dubious pictures and screen shots for every random and irrelevant thing however remains elusive on her current Visa status. She has not made public the Visa type and the duration. What is her Visa status?13/16
She wants to create hatred and mistrust in Pakistani society and has been doing so for past many years. It is time now for accountability. This will be pursued legally and taken to its legal logical consequence in full public view.14/16
She claims to be “investigating” through “our teams” in the former tribal areas and into sensitive security matters. She claims a Military Attaché from the Czech Republic’s embassy is “helping” her and that also needs to be investigated.15/16
The Czech Republic also needs to issue a clarification regarding the involvement of their military attaché in matters involving Pakistani politics and internal security.16/16
