...and why its important for rebels to learn fast so they don't fall for these tricks. There is no hi-tech laboratory or equipment or geniuses of Indian agencies involved in this. They simply use tools that analyse mobile internet data usage.
The stats from data usage are fed into the tool, which then picks up patterns and outputs potential targets. If we think carefully since the introduction of JIO communication in Kashmir, the successful operations against rebels have seen a drastic increase.
It begs the question, what has changed? Well, its the liaison, and collaboration, between service providers and security agencies. To put it in simple terms, Indian security agencies ask service providers to provide them with the data about all subscribers of a specific area.

Solution is simple, stop/minimise data usage and most of the time switch to normal communication mode. It is safer to use WhatsApp or even voice calls via unsuspected numbers...

as often their phones are infected with surveillance bugs that are invisible to the common eye
