are being put up for debate. This move would roll back LGBT rights and it's also impossible to enforce - underfunded councils would have to employ people policing who uses which bathroom, which would inevitably lead to abuse of cis women who don't look (2/4)
stereotypically "feminine" as well as any trans and non-binary people who don't fit stereotypes. This policing could lead to possible abuse, groping etc on site, as most people don't carry their birth certificate on them to "prove" their gender this way. (3/4)
Any roll back on human rights advances for minority groups is bad form and leaves an unsavoury legacy for any PM, the cabinet and the current Conservative party on the whole. (4/4)
