Hey colleagues,
Please stop using the word "pipeline" to describe processes.
A pipeline is not a morally neutral thing. It is polluting and extractive. It represents irresponsible land stewardship and active ecocide and genocide.

And for the specific case of inclusion in STEM, please extra stop using that term.
Minoritized communities are not resource deposits from which you can extract representatives, only to process them into unrecognizability and then incinerate them...all for your own benefit.

There are better words.
Process and pathway are two.
But feel free to get more creative: "pipeline" is not intrinsically the most relevant concept, it's only the one that's been normalized.
We could call it "rainbow sunshine adventure" with as much denotative applicability.

Check out recent SCOTUS news for why you should care about this, if the general idea isn't something you'd normally care about.
Inb4: I'm not getting on anyone's case about examples like "school to prison pipeline".

PS If you really like the term "pipeline" just consider whether you'd feel as comfortable saying
"We are working up some concepts to use in building our own climate-destroying genocide-and-pollution hose, so hopefully more on that next time we meet! :)"
