NEW: Dwayne L. Palmer & his mother, Rose, were among the families who met w/ Pres Trump for about an hour. Palmer told me Trump was sympathetic but used a lot of "platitudes." "Kind words," he said. "But, speaking for my family, we are beyond kind words. We want to see action.”
Palmer, whose brother Everett died mysteriously in a PA prison, told me this about not wanting to be pictured w/ Pres Trump: "We didn’t want to be used in a photo-op as an opportunity to kind of divert this discussion -- by having black and brown faces next to the president."
Palmer told me families of loved ones killed by police or in racially charged incidents didn't want to be Trump's "props." He said he didn't want Trump to have "the opportunity to claim some sort of victory."

He added, "We're willing to give him credit once the work is done."
Both Dwayne L. Palmer & his attorney S. Lee Merritt say WH executive order is a welcome move but does not go far enough. They also said they talked w/ Trump about how "qualified immunity" -- a doctrine which shields police from lawsuits -- has blocked families getting justice.
