fyi politicians, saying #BlackLivesMatter
is a great step...but doing it while sanctioning continued police oppression of Black people in the name of #marijuana prohibition does not = tangible Justice.

institutional, systemic racism in criminal justice can be glaringly seen - by any observer in 2020 - in marijuana arrests for possession, sales, distribution and cultivation...and then sentencing/outcomes
even after success of 4,000 fewer #marijuana arrests in Philly under decriminalization...they didn;t go to zero...and those still brought into police stations were mostly Black... until @DA_LarryKrasner finally stopped all prosecutions https://www.inquirer.com/philly/columnists/philly420/Philly420_Racial_disparities_continue_in_Philly_marijuana_arrests.html
it's painfully clear @PAAttorneyGen that #marijuana prohibition is one of the primary tools used by cops in Pennsylvania to target Black residents. Now is the time to immediately remove that power from the police.
there's another factor - age; young people 18-30 (especially Black) are arrested for #marijuana in Pennsylvania...starting adult life in criminal court system @GovernorTomWolf @PASenateGOP @PaSenateDems @PAHouseGOP @PaHouseDems https://www.inquirer.com/philly/business/cannabis/millennials-bear-the-brunt-of-pa-marijuana-arrests-20181004.html
really one of the most striking pieces of clear data on how police use #marijuana prohibition to target/arrest Black #marijuana consumers came from Abington, Pa. @RepDean called me after I wrote this to chat...but APD has only offered excuses since https://news.yahoo.com/philly-420-abington-arresting-fewer-100235789.html
