Just watched this and have a smattering of reactions coursing through my body. Here they are:
1. It's hard for us white leaders who've been so right for so long about so many things to *feel* this incompetent, ignorant, and foolish.

2. I believe Louie is sincere, he didn't mean to cause harm, and he's truly remorseful.
3. The people who invented whiteness to justify the colonization/oppression of others were sincere. Sincerity is better than duplicity, but it doesn't always tell us the truth.

4. I've often confused sincerity or 'pureness of motive or intention' as virtuous. I'm not banging on Louie here; I think part of how whiteness works is that we assume *if I am sincere everything should be ok*

5. Was just talking to @smichael_x about how we don't really understand how to forgive in modern Christianity. We think of forgiveness as 'assuaging my guilt' but we don't know how to 'make restitution or rectification for the wrong done'.

6. I've said stuff just like Louie- stupid stuff, ignorant or racist stuff- except my platform isn't as big as his and Lecrae wasn't there. I'm increasingly convinced my responsibility to these things isn't just sincerely apologizing, but working for repair and restitution.

7. He ends by asking people to join with him...But Louie can I call you (and me) to join with Black leaders on this thing? Can we leverage our capital and authority to center other voices? Can we call others to join us as we submit to and partner with Black people leading?

8. Also, there is a LOT of work to be done to b/c anti-racist. By & large, large platform white evangelicals haven't done that work. But others have & it's time to cede the mic and authority to those who know more. That's how you can use your 'white blessings' (too soon?
