Twitch streamers who like alternative/rock/metal music: a thread.
So in light of the recent DMCA takedowns there have been a few record labels in the "scene" that have said hell yeah to you playing their music on Twitch. However, there are a few things you need to consider

Record companies are not the ones issuing the DMCA copyright takedowns. The Recording Industry Association of America is the one issuing these claims. If a label is a member of this it increases the chances of a claim being issued regardless of genre.

Many labels have come forward and said "YES" to music being played on live streams however, some of these labels are members of RIAA (the company issuing these takedowns).

UNFD are an Australian label that have released a statement saying that they have actually whitelisted the music that they have released for use on Twitch. This is the ideal way to avoid being issued a claim or strike. https://twitter.com/unfdcentral/status/1273064293110431745
Greyscale have also stated that Twitch streamers are welcome to use their music on stream and they have a great variety of alternative, rock and metal bands on their roster.

Pure Noise Records have created a playlist that you can use on stream :) Although I believe that their entire release roster would be ok to use on stream: https://twitter.com/purenoiserecs/status/1273109157361733632
Jarrod Dines has created a playlist of metal bands that you can play on stream and YT without getting a copyright strike https://twitter.com/JaredDines/status/1270510059286523904
Although bands like Rise Records, Fearless and Sumerian have said YES to their music being used, it's not guaranteed that it is safe from copyright claims and strikes. These labels are members of RIAA who are issuing the claims. I'd wait until their music is whitelisted.
Would like to see record labels making official statements rather than responding to a tweet with "We love the idea".
