As part of the @globalvoices Coronavirus Civic Media Observatory, I investigated social and mass media reports on #COVID19, by employing an ethnographic qualitative research.
Part of the research was to dig into the mysterious deaths in #Kano, the resultant confusion and it's link with #COVID19.

The Kano COVID-19 deaths: Forced relocations and disinformation creates widespread confusion (Part II) https://globalvoices.org/2020/06/19/the-kano-covid-19-deaths-forced-relocations-and-disinformation-creates-widespread-confusion-part-ii/ via @feathersproject
It was a complex, layered context with - Kano State government's denial of the deaths, political rivalry, disinformation, ethno-religious comments, lack of documentation and the forced relocation of almajiri - all competing in this web of confusion.
It indeed takes a village to raise a child. I am extremely grateful to the following @globalvoices colleagues for their help in the research, excellent editing of these two-part posts on #Kano: @ivonotes @travelfarnow and @asteris
