There's been a lot of talk about safer gambling recently, without any real explanation of what that means.
Here's a short thread about what it means to me.

Gamble within limits: Choose the maximum you can afford to lose per month and break that amount down across all accounts you have (i.e. £100 =£50 Betfair / £30 Bet365 / £20 PartyPoker)
Set separate daily or weekly limits to ensure you don't overspend on any specific day.

Bet within those limits: If you have £25 per week, spending more than 10% of that on one bet is stupid.
If you 'don't get any excitement' from betting at sensible stakes, probably time to re-examine your relationship with gambling. Equally so if you feel you HAVE to bet.

Keep records: Without this, you just fly blind. Even the most basic form of record keeping - periodically monitoring deposits, withdrawals and P+L is hugely beneficial.
Stop if you need to. Permantly so, or for a set amount of time, from just one account or all of them.
Be honest with yourself - there are times in my life I should have taken an extended break from gambling and didn't.
It cost more than just money.

Block the casino: most operators allow you to turn off the casino side of their operation - if you struggle with slots/roulette I'd encourage anyone to do this.
Usually you have to email customer services but some (BF / Stars) have it within RG menu.
