It's not the first time I've read something like that, and it's not accurate at all. Actually, I know several things about Jemma Simmons outside her relationship with Fitz. And all those things are canon.
• She had scoliosis as a kid. Every night, her father, to help to combat the boredom, would wheel her bed out and talk with her about the stars. Her dad actually inspired her love for science.
• At a very young age, she desired to be a biologist to study cuttlefishes.

• She is extremely sweet and optimistic, even in the face of the most difficult and dangerous situations. And even after she completely lost hope in Maveth, she got her optimism back after being rescued from the planet, as she showed in later episodes.
• Although Jemma is a sweetie, she's also tough, she has learned to defend herself, to fight, to use a gun and her physical combat skills have greatly improved over the seasons.
• Very resilient; even though she was tortured, she remained irreducible, determined not to provide any classified information to Hydra.
• Afraid of birds

I think I know a lot more about Jemma's life story outside of SHIELD than about Fitz...
