I think, with the recent moments between Jimin & Jungkook, the general perception of the fandom regarding their bond has become much more positive. I'm saying that a part of the fandom has noticed why many people (including me) appreciate their genuine bond, & not just as a ship.
For starters, Jimin & Jungkook's 김밥 VLive came as a surprise to many. After all the hate JK got last month, then JM stating that he won't be online much - them being very comfortable with each other, giggly and having an overall pleasant atmosphere was so good to witness live.
It is especially notable to see that they even managed to read some comments, knowing that many of the issues thrown at them were (sadly) due to posts & comments of people with malicious intent.
Nonetheless, they were comfortable to read them, even smiling at a few.

The rainy day fight from 방탄생파 also left an impression to many. We all know JM dotes on JK a lot since their debut days, but them /actually/ having a fight is unheard of. It happened 2015-2016, but just JK mentioning it alone shows how he is very sorry for that incident.
Just the series of events: JM walking out, a lost + crying JK calling JM to apologize, them reconciling under the rain: It was all so dramatic.
But the fact that they resolved it quickly showed how much they value & treasure their bond, and indeed, it is as strong as ever.

Jungkook and Jimin has this chemistry with each other that can be easily see through the way they connect on-stage, and off-stage. They sing together, quoting The New York Times, like "two shades of tender in a tug of war." The Japanese single Stay Gold is a testament to that.
If they were not as close as some people think, why would Jimin go on a 12-hour flight from Paris to Korea just to buy a cake, prepare gifts, & celebrate Jungkook's birthday together? He didn't NEED to do any of that, but guess what?
He did it anyways. https://twitter.com/BTS_twt/status/1168188918337961985?s=20

It is not a matter of who comforts the other the most, or who's the one who is always on the receiving end - NO. We are talking about two people: one younger and the other two years older, who have a connection that is so strong and heartwarming to see and unfold all these years.
We only see glimpses of what their actual bond really is, but the little things like, constantly watching each other's solo rehearsals, hanging out outside schedules, having both of their families dropping them off at the airport for their Tokyo trip - there is so much to say.
I hope fans can appreciate more of the wonderful relationship Jimin and Jungkook has with each other. Don't let the toxic side of this fandom affect the way you look and see the genuine and very real bonds the members have. They deserve nothing less but your love and respect.
