talk to me about striving
striving is
if you voted, could you change your mind?
do you have a religious/spiritual commitment/conviction for or against striving?

ex I imagine most see the Protestant “calling” as a pro-striving position, ascetic Buddhism as anti-striving, etc
If you are pro-striving, how do you reconcile this with the reality of death? that no work will save you?

If you are anti-striving, how do you choose how to act while you are alive? how do you survive without having a value for striving?
is there a better question to ask than “is striving good or bad?”
to the pro-striving majority-

what’s your advice for people with a anxious or self-abusive relationship to striving?

are you able to empathize with people who feel that way?

did you have to strive to have a healthy relationship with striving?
to the anti-striving minority, could you explain how it is possible to do important pro-social without the same sense of striving to do them?

my sense is, from the anti-striving point of view, there’s an unnecessary selfish/needy vibe to striving you can ditch and still do stuff
ah I thought this was some other intellectual question but it is ultimately still the question “do I want to be here?” which is always sad to notice I am still asking since I am (trapped) here either way

maybe don’t currently have a strong frame for understanding myself as Good
