They were also the main agitationists against Kudankulam nuclear plant - we also know how rampant missionary activities are in these areas. Erik Solheim’s invisible hand will be found in everything that happened down south in past 20 yrs as also NGO activism around projects!
So whenever @ErikSolheim heaps praise on any Indian state, take it with a pinch of salt - u never know what is he upto next- he represent that global lobby which smiles at your face and stabs u in the back!
Odisha has been a target of this activist lobby for years now-they stalled Kalinga University-they stalled refinery project; protests happd against Gopalpur-POSCO; they killed Niyamgiri. You name it and every transformational project in Odisha died premature death coz of activism
Vedanta has been the prime target of this lobby as Anil Agarwal owned co was first to bet big on the state that was coming out of the shadows of Kandhamal and Staines.

Actually state is paying for its Hindu roots-is biggest eyesore of Church despite its successes across South!
Church’s special hate is reserved for Odisha so not just industrialisation but all progressive moves in the state see opposition supported by invisible hands like that of Solheims. I forgot why but moves to do something saw opposition in the name of Chilka conservation.
What is interesting however is that the man ruling Odisha for years now, actually belongs to that high seat of world elite - Navin Patnaik before landing in nondescript Bhubhneshawar was a high flying socialite with high n mighty names as his friends....he knew their games!

Odisha’s continuance as dharmik state is important - and it needs to start planning beyond Naveen Patnaik!

And doing that requires demolishing all the church sponsored NGOs, defeating Naxals on their rolls and helping Odisha emerge as Industrial and Dharmik powerhouse!
