Everyone loves an underdog story.
Lebron James won't be relatable if he admits he was the best high school player in the country by far. He will if he says he had haters who doubted his success (he didn't).
No. Nobody cares about you if you are talented & have potential.

Nobody cares about the evidently talented because they are expected to figure it out on their own.
Talent is not relatable for the common man.
Which leads to abandonment.
Most people just cannot offer the guidance talented & skillful kids, teenagers & adults need.

And most talented people with potential end up falling short to expectations.
When you have initial skill & talent, everything comes off effortlessly.
This leads to not learning essential skills such as discipline, practice, effort, delayed gratification, etc.

And this is a goddamn shame. First, because people cannot relate to you. Second, because your problems will be ignored.
Your troubles are brushed aside.

I never failed at anything in life until I was 17, at university & failed exams.
I had never had to study in my whole life. Straight A's without any effort at all.
I spent 7 years at university (2 degrees) because I had to learn from scratch how to put effort into things.

Learning how to work hard, how to follow a schedule, how to prepare for things, how to enforce discipline on myself, how to avoid procrastination & how to not abandon things if I didn't get it at the first go were my issues.
Nobody cared for me. Literally no support.

I was alone. Nobody could relate to me. Nobody could help me.
Which is why I joined Twitter. To find those who are talented & I could relate to.

When you have talent & potential, you need special care, & not in the common sense.
The talented have weakspots which are covered most of the time by talent & skill. But talent alone isn't enough.
You need self-management tools. To learn discipline, hard work & effort.
