Somalia was colonised by Italy and gained its independence from them on the 1st of July 1960. Today marks 60 year of independence with forever to go.
It’s thought that the UK has the largest population of Somalis in Europe.

Also on that note, Football is finally returning to Somalia with the opening of their national stadium. 
There hasn’t been a game their since the 1980s but that is all about to change.
