Our lawmakers have abdicated responsibility by not doing more to stop evictions and giving more economic relief at a time of historic unemployment. Don't expect judges to step up. It's not their job.
Thatâs not to say this judge doesnât suckâjudges can be more patient with people, explain things clearly, etc. My point is more that this is not a uniquely bad judge and evictions wonât stop just if one judge gets stopped.
I donât want people to think this is something that can be solved on an individual level like that
And a clearer way of saying this: a system that depends on individuals making kind and compassionate choices on their own in order to be an equitable one...is generally not a good system
