Our lawmakers have abdicated responsibility by not doing more to stop evictions and giving more economic relief at a time of historic unemployment. Don't expect judges to step up. It's not their job.
That’s not to say this judge doesn’t suck—judges can be more patient with people, explain things clearly, etc. My point is more that this is not a uniquely bad judge and evictions won’t stop just if one judge gets stopped.
I don’t want people to think this is something that can be solved on an individual level like that
And a clearer way of saying this: a system that depends on individuals making kind and compassionate choices on their own in order to be an equitable one...is generally not a good system
