It almost pains me to share this, but i think there is a good message in it about protein & fat SOURCES.

IN Feb 2017 i went carnivore. Healed ovarian cysts, lowered IR, A1C, went off metformin.. By eating mainly fish & egg carnivore. Why did i do eggs & fish... Cause when i ate
Beef i gained weight in the first few weeks. I didn't want to gain body fat, i had enough to loose anyway... So all of 2017 I had beef maybe 2x a week if at all & i did well... Pic of me jan1st 2018...my lowest weight of 167. Then in 2018...i went on pain meds for my back,
Upped beef intake, trialed PKD/2:1/ketoAF, went strict beef, upped fasting lengths...all these things in the carnivore world being given as 'optimal' ways of eating. I slowly kept gaining body fat... Until 2 yrs later... I had put on 30 of the 60 i had lost since 2013 back on.
Now i was NOT doing this with blind faith. I was testing my body responses. Taking Notes. Because in about mid 2018 I started suspecting Hartnup's disease & was doing my own n=1 trails. With horrid results. But at least clear answers.
I am NOT knocking the carnivore diet. Had i not gone carnivore i would not even know i have hartnup's now & be on the right path for me. My situation is fairly rare but it is a GOOD example that:
1. Genetics do matter. ( But not an excuse to eat donuts just cause your fam is fat)
2. Protein sources might matter for you. If you feel like shit on pork. Don't eat it. If beef makes you gain bodyfat... Ask why.
3.fat is not fat is not fat. Fat sources may ALSO matter.
4. Take notes. Pay attention. Data doesn't lie
5. Don't blindly follow the heard. Even if they are badass lions. Cause maybe you are a badass bear in the wrong woods/jungle.
Figuring out hartnup's & changing my protein sources & fat sources & supplimenting for my specific genetic mutation in less than a month has me feeling internally good again... Like i felt at the beginning of 2018, when i took that pic on new years day as a progress pic intending
For the next 11 pics to be showing more strength & less bodyfat still... But my individual issues & my N=1s didn't go that way... The data i collected was brilliantly clear & now that i have that data, i am using it to shed the excess fat i gained back so i can feel GREAT again.
Every check mark on this calendar is a bodyweight workout and or a 2km walk... When i changed my diet for hartnup's & started specific suppliments for my mutation that causes deficiencies, my chronic pain all but disappeared! NUTRITION MICRO PROFILES MATTER. I went from using
A walmart shopping scooter to shop in April & early May & getting a Handicap sticker for my truck because i could NOT even stand for 10 minutes without NEEDING to sit down & taking LARGE amounts of pain meds. To today.... Parking 5+ spots away, with minimal aspirin for aches &
All of that intentional exercise in June AS WELL AS more yard work & housework in 1 month than i had been able to manage for 2 years.
So.... Pay attention!
