Tips for working in PPE + N95 + face shield/goggles in Cath lab for Cardiologists #MedTwitter #cardiotwitter
1. Speak a little louder and slowly bcos the mask makes it difficult for others to hear and understand
2. Be patient - the others are in PPE too .. it makes it difficult for them also to move and perform tasks properly
3. Take time to observe and understand bcos the view is a little impaired and the field of vision becomes a little restricted
4. Tactile feeling also becomes little impaired due to double gloves to some extent - let your moves be little more deliberate and careful
5. Make sure the patient is being listened to because in all the melee patient comfort shouldn't be compromised
6. Do not miss out on talking to patient relatives before and after procedure in detail as the donning and doffing PPE tends to take precedence
7. Give a little more extra time to everyone including yourself to do things calmly and accurately
8. Be clear about Covid test protocols of your institution and also the designated place to shift pt after procedure
9 Echocardiogram tends to get missed or delayed during these times bcos of sterility issues etc - make sure it's done within reasonable period
10. Lastly do wear a PPE and revisit patient later in CCU or the respective holding area and make sure everything is ok. Due consent - complete documentation cannot and should not be missed out.
