Fascinating 6/17/20 @QuinnipiacPoll results for the question "Do you support or oppose removing Confederate statues from public spaces around the country?". 52% overall say yes... but check out the wide gaps between parties/ages: https://poll.qu.edu/national/release-detail?ReleaseID=3663
Overall 19-point swing since an August 23, 2017 poll, when only 39% supported removal of Confederate monuments.
Only 14% of Republicans support removal of Confederate monuments - and only 32% of people without a 4 year college degree.
The older you are, the less likely you are to support the removal of Confederate monuments. And only 44% of white people support removal, versus 84% of Black people.
This was question 43 on the poll. Lots of the proceeding questions were about police, chokeholds, and "is being the victim of police brutality something you personally worry about, or not?" Probably a priming effect on how people answered about statues.
