systematic vs systemic:
- systematic is an adjective for showing, having or a plan involving a system. this is basically a method to the madness.
ie: packing for moving. you likely have a planned way of doing it. you’re not just haphazardly throwing things in bags. like me...

systemic is of or relating to a system. some common synonyms for systemic are ingrained, inherent and structural. systemic racism, also known as institutional racism, is the inherent or structural oppression of black people and other persons of color.
i think a lot of people are using systematic incorrectly when regarding institutional racism. systematic racism is Karens using the n word and attacking black folk for no reason. i believe that if we work towards fixing the fundamental issues within our government
we will, in turn, (hopefully) cause the outward racists to realize that their learned generational opinions are all from the lose lose structure we as white people have placed on black people and other people of color. lower wages, twice the rate of infant mortality, lower hire
rates, higher rates of imprisonment and less access to communities with better school systems, financial care and health care. i’m not saying that what black people are experiencing right now isn’t blatant systematic racism from our police force, but
i believe that we all should be a little more careful in the wording. we should fight the fundamental issues to better situations for our black friends and family members. to help provide a better life for our black pastors and our black volunteers. provide equal education to our
black neighbors’ children. systemic racism is the reason why brock turner, a rapist, got 6 months and every other (innocent) black man and woman got an exponentially higher drug sentence.
i’m done ranting. it was just something that has been weighing on me whenever i read the incorrect use of the two words. thanks for reading.
also i mean, we should ALSO fight the fundamental issues. meaning the systematic racism is definitely incredibly prevalent right now, but we can’t forget the structure.
