there is not a single gacha game that is aimed towards minors. it doesn't matter if the setting is in high school. they are aimed towards working adults who have money to spend. they are gambling games. they are designed to take your money.
so please, if you are a minor, be safe when playing gacha games. if you can avoid it, don't spend money at all. if you decide to spend money, limit yourself. don't link your credit/debit cards. stick to gift cards with limited balances.
for games that do have age restrictions on how much currency you can buy, do not fucking lie about your age. those are there for your own safety. and remember, you are literally gambling for a jpeg.
i really do worry when i see kids as young as 13-15 playing gacha games. games like enstars + bandori bring you with their fun rhythm game mechanics and pretty art, but in the end, their end result is still to take your money.
im going to mute this thread so let me clarify a few things first. 1) i realize that i made a sweeping generalization in the first tweet by saying absolutely no gacha games are aimed at kids.
2) to the people mad over these tweets: you're right that i can't tell you how to spend your money, and this thread wasn't meant to be patronizing. i can, however, advise you to spend carefully, and i still think being f2p is the best course of action.
if this thread sounded patronizing, im sorry. it wasn't meant to come across that way. this is coming from someone who really wishes she still had the $300 she spent on mobage when she was younger. if you want to support a franchise, buying merch is another, safer option.
