for a trans woman a vulvoplasty, or zero depth vag, is a valid autonomous choice of surgical procedures https://twitter.com/EllenCScott/status/1284066545694650369
and i feel like i need to emphasize that not opting for any surgery at all is equally as valid
but since this thread started out about surgery, i feel like this topic - vulvoplasty - doesn't get talked about nearly enough
we all have intensely personal reasons for opting for one procedure over another. that doesn't make either one any more or less valid than the other
and gaslighting from within the community needs to stop. it doesn't help anyone, makes people feel badly for what should be a free and intimate decision, and keeps open discussion under wraps
my reasons? i'm 48, married and monogamous, very comfortable as a lesbian, three kids ages 6 and under, and i don't need the rigors or time sink of dilation. tbh, I'm thrilled to be where i am, and the surgery is just icing on the cake
so to tell me that my choice is "all show no go" is medical gatekeeping, and assumes that I deserve neither agency nor autonomy in such decisions
so if you're one of the True Trans™aka truscum aka transmedicalist who follow me and expect support, you can unfollow me rn and fuck off into the sunset
and for the record, a vulvoplasty still sensate and orgasmic. full inner and outer labia, clitoris and hood. just no vaginal canal, just a 1-2" pocket
