More than 50% of cheetahs' hunts are unsuccessful. They have fault tolerance built into their most basic survival need. Similarly, the best trading/investing system would have a low success rate and high R/R.
Go for the biggest kills instead of most frequent kills. Quite a few of my investments since April are more than 40-50% up with a maximum risk of 8-10%. Calculate the batting average enough to outperform the indices, let alone superperform! Credits: @markminervini
These were systematic entries, not bottom fishing attempts. I do not intend to buy at the bottom, nor sell at the top. I just intend to ride the trend by buying the follow through. Smart money leaves footprints on charts; that's what we call technical analysis.
The leaders of yesterday may not be the leaders of today or tomorrow. Hence, a bottom fishing attempt in erstwhile out-performers may be rendered futile; capital may get stuck in average movers while new leaders emerge... I have let go of any bias I had before; have you?
