1) Florida had 12,478 reported COVID-19 cases on Sunday - the 8th consecutive day over 10,000 - and 89 deaths.
2) The NBA and MLS are both restarting their seasons in Orlando, FL.
In total, both leagues will conduct over 13,000 COVID-19 tests per week.
The NBA & MLS are using the same testing laboratory as the general public, @BioReference.

3) The NBA & MLS get their COVID-19 test results back within 12-24 hours.
The general public receives their results in 5-7 days, and sometimes it takes 10 days or more.
Why is @BioReference prioritizing the test results of professional athletes over the general public?

4) Why does it matter? The average COVID-19 positive patient infects 2-2.5 people.
This number can dramatically increase if the person is unaware they are positive, or does not self-quarantine in the time between being tested and getting their results.

5) What does @BioReference have to say about prioritizing pro athletes over the general public?
Jon Cohen (Executive Chairman) says that since the NBA and MLS are "large employers" they are "supporting, in some sense, the economic return of the country".

6) As Rex Archer (Kansas City Health Director) says - “If there is enough money at the right price, you can get a lab to stand up and meet your needs”.
We all want sports back, but should they resume play at the expense of the general public's health?
