This seat had been held by a Republican for almost 40 yrs. Counties consist of parts of Colleton, Berkeley, Dorchester, Beaufort, and Charleston.
@RepCunningham won only 1 county of the 5. He had enough votes from Charleston to win the Election.
Contributing factors to help him secure a win.
Out of 800 poll workers trained for Election Day, only 600 showed up. Lack of workers led to long lines in Charleston precincts. Especially on John’s Island and in Mt. Pleasant.

Due to lack of workers watching, the candidate was seen at polling precincts ALL DAY! He’d leave one polling location and go to another.
Witnesses claim he was handing out snacks and water to voters as well as campaigning in line!

Witnesses tweet what they saw. Even the reporters seem to think this is okay?
Not just the candidate though but even the Charleston County Democrats!

SC law. “Candidate may not actively campaign inside the polling place.”
“....or promise of money or other article of value.”
You decide, water and snacks articles of value?
