Went with my sister and prayer group friends to join the #wallofmoms tonight. Bearing witness to what Black women and women of color have been saying all along.
We know that a justice system that works for us but not for Black/Indigenous/Undocumented/POC isn’t truly just and needs to be changed.
Hours of thousands of peaceful protestors chanting. And I’m the space of a few minutes, the feds came out in full tactical gear and with no warning and tear-gassed their own citizens.
I just want to beat witness to the reality of what’s happening in Portland. The thousands and thousands showing up now and those who were showing up all along. No Justice/No Peace rings like a biblical chant, because it’s true.
*bear witness, I’m tired and it’s way past my bedtime!
