We deployed dozens of officers to to protect a statue that most of us feel should come down.
You got a solid tip there could be an active shooter on the S. Side & you had a tactical team “in the area” not at the site of the tip...in the area.

These are the inequities that are so clear to see if you open your eyes. Look at what @chicagosmayor has done with police deployment. Downtown & Gold Coast get an army of officers. The neighborhoods get policing AFTER the fact even w/ reliable intelligence. Property over people.
And go back to the marches.
Things were SOOOO bad that the @chicagosmayor suspended the meals for our students that following Monday, but a big chunk of the police force was still downtown. Those officers could have been on the S, W & NW side & our kids could’ve eaten.

I won’t forget that cruelty and you shouldn’t either!
Thank God for the local restaurants and citizens stepping up that day. Even as we were cleaning up our city, people put in their masks & went out of their way to help each other and CPS students. Don’t forget that either!
