I'm 22 today!
Here are 22 things I learned whilst being 21. A thread

1)
*Be a student for life* - “It is impossible to begin to learn that which one thinks one already knows." - Epictetus

2)
*Learn to code* - I've opened up so many more opportunities through prototyping something or having knowledge about development constraints

3)
*Make something, make anything* - I like to think that if one person seeks value in something then for me that's good enough

4)
*Mentors are good* - accept help from your peers and people that inspire you. There's a reason why top CEO's have them, it's because they are terrible at managing what's going on in their head. Talking to someone takes the personal side out of it.

5)
*Know your value* - one who does not see your value is not valuable. Seek to understand what each person has that is unique or desirable and utilise it.

6)
*Start saving now* - just put 15% of your salary into an all-world index tracker and you'll compound interest. Thank me later.

7)
*Network, network, network* - introvert, extrovert, it doesn't matter. Get to know as many people as possible and seize each opportunity. Life will reward you in ways you can't imagine right now.

8)
*Loss will teach you value* - loss will teach us the greatest lesson about life: appreciate what you have.

9)
*Uncomfortableness is good* - we often grow without realising it and from our challenges come our greatest strengths.

10)
*Family is everything* - Take time out of your day to call your parents, we're all getting older and your future self will thank you for checking in once in a while.

11)
*You know nothing* - remove your ego from every equation and you will see more success

12)
*Stay fit* - getting back into shape when you get older is 10x harder

13) There's no right time to start anything - just do it
14)
*Embrace the unknown* - sometimes it's better to have the mindset of broadening horizons than restricting them. Not knowing everything is good.

15)
*Read, travel, learn and listen* - each of these could be a piece of advice on their own

16)
*Nothing is good or bad* - only thinking makes it so. Perspective is everything, your attitude shapes so much about how you choose to react in any situation.

17)
*Read or listen about space* - you'll realise your insignificance in a good way and understand that people have been before you and will come long after you. Choose to care about the most important things today.

18)
*Good design managers are good people who:*
1/ Want what’s best for you
2/ Coach effectively
3/ Are accountability partners
4/ Earn your respect
5/ Understand product and code
6/ Listen closely
8/ Raise the bar for design quality
9/ are your friends cc/ @WinL
