With new independent and third-party candidates like Kanye West and Brock Pierce running for President, it's brought more attention to my campaign. I’m often asked if a vote for me is just a vote for Donald Trump. This thread explains why that argument has no merit.
I find it interesting that I’m being told that I shouldn't be running more and more now that the Democratic Party has removed all of the diverse voices from their platform and nominated Joe Biden, a white land-owning male from the 1%.
Let's be honest: Joe Biden is not the most compelling candidate, nor does he have a particularly clear vision. There were other Democratic candidates that were better! Yet, in the party's eyes, he benefited the establishment and it was his "turn" to run.
Now that the Democratic Party has removed all of the women, people of color, and voices of diversity from their stage, they're turning their attention to third-party candidates like myself and telling me I shouldn't be running as the priority is to get Trump out of office.
When I talk to the people who are challenging my campaign, I've noticed that they don't say I'm wrong. In fact, they often tell me they support my arguments, and yet they're telling me and my supporters to accept the status quo. But that's not how democracy works.
Do you think Joe Biden is the best candidate? Support him! But if you're just looking to get Trump out of office and feel the best way to do that is to remove everyone else from the stage and elect a mediocre candidate, then you don't have a very good argument.
I would love for more people to engage with my campaign on a real level, debating issues and discussing vision. Let’s not just talk about defeating Donald Trump. Let's talk about leading this country forward.
