One thing that is very clear in this year's Coalition Explorer is the super central role that Germany has in the EU. This is a result we get every year. (2)

97% of expert respondents from all EU memberstates who we asked said Germany is the most influential country. It's the most contacted, and considered as most responsive of all EU27 countries. (3)

Overall, Germany ranks 'only' 6th in the ranking of most disappointing country (after Hungary, Poland, France, the Netherlands and Italy). But in many countries the results are worse. 16 out of 29 Greek respondents find Germany disappointing. And 20 of 36 French. Which...
...makes Germany the #1 country that France is most disappointed with.
That doesn't sound like great news for the Franco-German relationship. (6)
