Gonna marathon Doctor Who from the start. Properly. Always dipped in and out before.

An Unearthly Child is still solid gold.
"Do you want a liar for your chief?"

57 years old, set thousands of years ago (although I prefer not to refer to it as 100,000BC *because that's a RUBBISH title) and yet still relevant.

Also never forget how good the lengthy TARDIS scene in Cave of Skulls is too.
I've got an actor mate (a few I think) who who was taught by Jeremy Young at drama school.

Met William Russell and Verity Lambert at Who based events.
The Forest of Fear and the Firemaker aren't quite as good as the first two episodes, but there's still a lot of overlooked good stuff in there. And far from being "dull stuff with cave people" it's a clever insight in to human and (alien) nature.
The Pilot says the Doctor and Susan are from the 49th Century and implies they could be human. "We are not of this Earth" doesn't explicitly make them alien, although we always retrospectively take that.
So if for part of the conception at least they WERE human, The Tribe of Gum (I like THAT title) gives us brutal past humans, brutal future humans, and contemporary Ian and Barbara caught in the middle being good people but knowing full well most of *their* contemporaries aren't.
Didn't give up our #ThePilgramage watch at The Tribe of 100,000 Child. We did The Daleks last night. Have Edge of Destruction CALL IT BY IT'S NAME, STEW. Ian & Barbara are flawless, Hartnell compelling. 'Daleks' is really good but drags a bit in the Expedition back to the city.
Thought the Thals were very strong, and the Daleks are never chattier than here- they really feel like proper aliens. Edge feels a bit all over the place - script or dropped lines perhaps, but an underrated watch all the same.
