“Teach a child the way they will learn”..

Raising my daughter taught me this lesson.. Having to deal with the drama that came with “putting her in a box” that is conventional & “prestigious” private schooling made me reevaluate what was best for her vs what I wanted for her.. https://twitter.com/dr_lovelee/status/936327056652165126
I find myself again at crossroads for my son.. Not so much becoz he doesn’t “fit” that typical school system mentioned... but becoz this lockdown has showed me that the extra care & attention to each child that the school sell over & above “other excellence” isn’t for all kids..
So now I have to rethink things and decide if I have the energy to take the school to task and make them accountable for the service they promised.

Or if we should rather make schooling what we want it to be.. & not merely pay to conform just to say “my child went to xyz school”
Back to the parenting drawing board... Everyday is a classroom here by parenting ville...
