For COVID, restrictions on behavior w/o accompanying supports & accommodations is a recipe for unjust outcomes.
Yes, if those of us who are able to work from home do stay home as much as possible, we can reduce the level of community transmission and make conditions safer for those who are required to put themselves at risk for their employment. But...
A public health response that relies restrictions & behavior change w/o government supports to make working conditions safer for front-line workers & remove expectation of return-to-work for those for whom it would be particularly unsafe is predictably ineffective & unjust.
