This is his bread and butter. He finds the seam and sticks to the middle of it, then takes the hits. If he's on the field a lot this year (which he should be, seeing as Lacosse opted out and nobody else is there besides fellow rookie Keane.)
"He was solid dropping his hips and can use head and shoulder fakes at the top of the break as well as physicality to create space. He was used within the whole route tree and did a lot of his work in the middle of the field on Digs, Posts, Seam routes and showed solid...
awareness vs Zone to find open areas. His hands are good catching away from his body and adjusted smoothly to balls around his frame. He has solid long speed when he gets out in space."
NE has a history of making rookie TEs relevant... the last time they tooke 2 in the early rounds their stats looked like this: 546/10 and 563/6...
Now... I'm not saying that Asiasi is the next Gronk, but he does have a fantastic opportunity to get the lion's share of snaps at TE in an offense that historically uses the TE a LOT, especially in the red zone. Go ahead and name all of NE's red zone targets. I'll wait.
This brings me to... Cam Newton. Guess which position Cam has preferred to throw to over the course of his career? That's right. In Cam's 2015 MVP year, Greg Olsen led the team in targets.
With all of this said, Asiasi is barely being drafted in redraft formats. I believe you can take him in the last round safely as your TE2 with upside. Do not sleep on what is happening at TE in NE.
