Med students (especially those applying FM!) please let me know if you have application questions or want me to glance at your personal statement (for free). I’m not sure I’d ever pay anyone to do this. Countless friends/mentors helped me out, now it’s time to repay the favor!

Reviewing some personal statements for med students today. Before I start, here are my basic guidelines for everyone:
1) Don’t reiterate your CV. Show people know who you really are.
2) Make the reader want to listen/read.
3) These are often read quickly, make main points clear.
With that said, I was always amazed at some of the things from my application interviewers would pick out to discuss. Know EVERY detail of your application. Things that seem minute to you may be what some interviewers find the most intriguing. #MedTwitter
