Critique (versus tearing something down) is a sign of tremendous respect. When I get feedback showing you took me seriously enough to process what I attempted to communicate AND then were vested enough to offer ways I can make my ideas/myself better? Wow! Honored. That's love.
Doesn't mean I need to take up all of the suggestions offered. I trust myself enough to decipher what's useful and what's not. Anyways, I do my best to decipher who is trying to tear me down and who is vested in my improvement. More than honored by the latter.
here's one more thought... very much related. I also have learned to mistrust those who flatter. Admittedly, I still need better discernment in figuring out who is sincerely appreciating my contributions and who just has low expectations.
just checked if #vulnerabletweets was a thing. It is now!
