We're living in a point in time in which anyone and everyone can claim blackwomanhood and achieve monetary and social gain from it.

Anyone BUT black women.

But you need to ask yourself. How did we get here?

Here where all these pple here are claimed to be black women

Everything begins somewhere.

First let's address the reason why pple are claiming blackness. More specifically. Black womanhood.

Hip hop. Hip hop and rap are the main culprits. Black men are the main culprits. I blame them. This is all their fault.

But here's why...

Somewhere in the 2010s the standard of beauty shifted.

It went from this, to this.

And the reason why is bcs the second picture here is the standard of beauty in the black community.

It's who and what black men lust after. Women that looked like this?

They are CELEBRATED

I can't really remember but we all know that somewhere in the 2010s rap & hip hop became the biggest selling musical export in the US.

It became the most popular genre, outselling both Pop AND rock & roll.

With that the aesthetic associated with it also became popular.

And we all know what it is. Light, white and bright women.

Not white women all together but definitely not what the average black woman looks like.

It's this wierd proximity, closest to whiteness & non blackness type of thing that black men fetishise in all their music videos.

With the biggest music genre in the world constantly repeating the same lyrics.

Fat ass.
Big lips.
"good" hair.
Most importantly "LIGHT" skin.

All while simultaneously demonising obviously black features like,

"Nappy" hair.
Dark skin.
Big mouths & attitudes.

Black men effectively made the "mixed with black" look. The "adjacent to black" look.

The "foreign" "exotic" but definitely not "full on WHITE" look the most desirable aesthetic of our generation.

All while promoting themselves and their alleged pro blackness.

With women that looked like these on their arms.

The "spicy" Latinas.
The exotic women.
The mixed but still claimed as black women.
The biracial and light skinned black woman look.

And with this shared aesthetic constantly being praised and sought after in every music video.

Every lyric in every song. Every movie. Every show.

All of saying and sharing the same message.

"these women. These light skinned, loose curled BLACK women. Are the most beautiful black women there are."

All while simultaneously demonising the average black woman.

Black men

Effectively used their power and their influence to put these women on a pedistal for no other reason than the fact that they where... Black in a sense but not... Too black.

And while this was happening? These same women where LITERALLY replacing us in the media before our eyes.

Storm got played by a biracial woman. TWICE.

Aunt Viv got replaced by a light skinned woman.

My wife and kids also replaced Clair.

Hell. Amandla Stenburg was this close to playing SHURI in black panther.

They replaced us right before our eyes.

And even when black women where landed roles we where always casted with the express intention to be the "foil" to the light women who where marketed as "Superior"

Movies like "coming to America" shows like "Martin"

You all already know the drill.

Mixed & light skinned women where elevated at the expense of black women bcs they where marketed to us in all their different nationalities, non black heritage and many varying different shades of baige AS BLACK WOMEN to the Masses

This warped the image of black women.

U know what didn't help? Black men. (it's always these niggas. They always the culprits) dressing up as black women and then playing black women in their movies.

It's how Emanuel Hudson got popular on YouTube, got on #AGT & eventually? Wild 'n out. (fuck U for that Nick Canon)

Do u understand now? How warped the image of blk women is?

How light skin "pretty" priveldge lays CONTINGENT on the bashing of black women?

So even the most mediocre of light skin, mixed and even WHITE women may keep their lucrative pedistal in the heirachy of beauty.

Anyone and everyone is allowed black womanhood because there is an explicit AGENDA to erase us.

It's how it's acceptable for today. In this day and age. For pple to legitimately argue that Dominic Jackson shuld be in the running for Storm, why Rita Ora was thought to be black

Every one of every race & sex has played blk women on screen.

Blk & wyte men. White, Biracial & Mixed women.

Is it really a wonder that today. A mixed, trans identified man. Is set to play a black girl? And a biracial girl is playing the younger version of the SAME character?
