What frustrates me beyond belief is when I hear of folks who still approve of @chicagosmayor. You only need to look at her decisions for this wknd of lifting bridges, kettling protesters downtown with ppr spray, and using CPD to prevent any form of protest.
I was at a protest today in McKinley Park with @SunriseMvmtChi calling for the closure of polluting MAT asphalt plant that no one in that neighborhood wants! As soon as we took to the street, CPD arrested my friend!
Meanwhile, youth led protests downtown were met w/ huge amounts of cops and were pepper sprayed also after simply taking to the streets. This is the FIRST time I've ever experienced such brutality simply for marching in the street.
@chicagosmayor, how are you okay with a policy so akin to fascism? You also continue to deny that there is anyone supporting #defundCPD, yet we continue to be on the streets every week. You know who you sound like? A certain orange man in DC.
