United will never win a Champions League or Premier League with Ole in charge, he's too tactically naive at the elite level. The fact they finished 3rd in the league is testament to the quality of their squad.
Ole was perfect at the time he was appointed, brought everything United needed, which was stability. Martial & Pogba looked certain to leave under Mou, Rashford's form had regressed, the attack lacked fluidity, the defense was leaking goals etc.
OGS was able to fix those problems. He's an elite man manager (as much as he's mocked for bringing good vibes), held a good understanding of the squad's needs (recruitment wise) & his starting XI's are usually on point.
Problem is, unless the gameplan involves a deep block/compact shape & countering, Ole is out of his depth tactically. His in-game management is inept, both in terms of changing systems & personnel (substitutions).
Essentially, after choosing the XI, the result is completely on the players & that's why United games are decided by sheer individual brilliance (or penalties) so often. There's no system, no gameplan, no specific style of play.
United talent wise are ahead of Arsenal/Chelsea, they're genuinely close to rivalling City/Liverpool. The difference? At the elite level, every team is stacked with world-class talents & tactics make the difference. You can't win a CL or PL solely off individual brilliance.
Ole needs to go now, he's take United as far as he can. Pochettino is available & perfect, the longer United stall, the more time teams like Chelsea/Arsenal have to rebuild/recruit & catch up.
One thing I forgot to add on Ole's failures as an in-game managers (tactically + substitutions). Last night, Sevilla had a clear plan. Pressing in certain periods & then sitting off, playing in 10-15 minute spells of high intensity to deep block.
Then there was United, no subs until the 85th(?) minute is shocking in a bubble where each sub is game changing. No change in system, creating chances purely because of Pogba & Martial missing those 1v1s cost them the game.
