#UMich students.

The COVID 19 app on Wolverine Access is apart of CARES (tax free) to cover unexpected COVID 19 related expenses. I've talked to several students who didn't know this.

Worst case, you get $0. Best case, you get support. 1/n
#UMich #Rackham Grad students.

There are also Rackham Emergency Funds (Typically 1x as a Master's student and 2x as a PhD student). This is NOT a loan (and tax deductible). These are available to use under any circumstances (COVID or not). 2/n
Lastly, there is also #CEW Emergency Funds.

Sharing this b/c it's important you know there ARE resources you can apply to if you need help financially or in other ways. 3/n
I'm sure there are more resources I don't know about so always remember to ask for help if you need it. Michigan is pretty damn great about finding ways to support their students. (there are caveats of course but this ain't about that right now) n/n.
ALSO!! If you apply to CARES, you may need to file a FAFSA. If you do *not* need student loans for your program, keep an eye on your fin aid account and DECLINE any loans offered. It automatically defaults to you accepting them if you don't.
