Now ask me again why I’m so alarmed about QAnon (a weaponized conspiracy theory about a blood-drinking baby-stealing pedophile cabal secretly controlling media/banks/politics, and whose adherents recently stopped saying “the Storm is coming” and started saying “We are the Storm”) https://twitter.com/nycsouthpaw/status/1295493803277778945
As at the same time, violent white supremacist accelerationists (who are militarized non-state and state actors) battle it out with ordinary citizens turned community defenders on the streets because they think the Confederacy not only will return but that it deserves to
And all are convinced of the tightness of their apocalyptic vision and desire. They’ve been told they are right, spoon-fed racist filth via @Facebook and @Twitter and @Youtube algorithm and funneled into the same actions, pivoting in unison to the war they want to wage
That’s why I’m alarmed. We’re well past the point of “Hug it out with your racist buddies and make nice-nice with them as you coddle them into reality” being part of the discussion. They’ve already armed themselves and organized (often via Facebook groups)
So that’s my deal. That’s what I saw coming all the way back in 2017, when Facebook did nothing to stop the Myanmar genocide they had caused, although they knew what was happening. I told them myself.
And then I thought, Oh my God they’re seeing what happens. They’re gathering data on this. And why would this not be used on us? They’ve been experimenting on our moods and habits since at least 2012. https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-28051930
So I spoke out and, well anyway I guess I did what I could do so now all I can do is hang around on here and yell at shitty people who allowed this to happen all day long, and hope that I’m wrong.
