getting to know someone tip: whether platonic, dating, or professional environment where you are getting to know someone new, don’t make the other person interview you. ask questions about their opinions/thoughts or offer something of interest to extend the convo.

this seems really simple, but there are so many people who claim they had an uninteresting conversation, & when they detail it... i can tell them why: duh, you already know everything about you!! the point of meeting new people is to learn/hear from them. should be give & take.

even in a job interview it should feel more like a conversation than an interview - you don’t always need to wait until the end to just ask some pre planned questions. curiosity & showing genuine interest via active participation beyond just answering goes a long way
