I’m sorry I’m absolutely dying at the sub-basement political talent these people are down to, we are so used to incompetence we don’t remark on it enough, there is NO ONE left on board who has a clue how to actually beat biden in a way that doesn’t involve outright fraud
joe biden delivered a speech that deserves a hall of fame plaque but here’s the thing, a team of competent people wrote it and refined it and rehearsed it and developed it into what it was. he’s working with legitimate top notch talent. that shit really does matter
those people are the offensive line; no credit when the drive ends in a TD but you know when they suck. and you know why you know trump’s campaign sucks? his offensive line sucks at levels never seen before
trump is his own general manager, coach, talent scout, quarterback, and wide receiver. he fuckin sucks at all of them but he’s especially bad at building an offensive line
you can say that proves how phony the whole thing is or you can say that a guy who can put together a team that’s this highly competent to crush an unprecedented virtual convention capped by a speech for the ages will probably also bring those skills to the job
the point is you cannot accidentally do what joe biden has done. you can absolutely accidentally do everything trump has done, which is why the whole thing looks like a perpetual car accident
I’ll admit to shifting from “biden is a decent guy who is a necessary tool to end trump” to “biden is a remarkably decent guy worthy of my respect who might actually bring more to the table than a means to an end”. so maybe I’m a rube here but that takes somebody’s hard work!
I’m an unhealthily cynical person, I think all these clowns are full of shit (they are). I think joe biden is full of shit on a lot of rote political items he says because he’s supposed to say. rarely do I feel like you know what despite politics that dude is a really good human
so the fact that joe brought that to the table is a product of people who like joe and said listen buddy your one shot is you are a legitimately good human and we need to get that across. let’s bag the politics and focus on YOU. and that was remarkably smart.
anyways I’m off my game because I don’t handle genuinely liking politicians as people well and biden broke through. it feels weird to want to believe in him. but the fact is that I want to believe in him required a team of smart people working hard, and that’s noteworthy
