How is it 'especially academics'? Any frontline staff are at risk. Frontline staff work with other staff who will therefore also be at risk. We also have a higher number of women. Women who will also have caring roles because we still have a sexist society.
And, would you believe it, the author is a man and an academic. 🙄
The safety of students and academics was the first to be considered at the beginning of lockdown, while other staff were told to carry on as normal and campuses remained open. It will be no different going in the other direction, let me tell you.
This is why I keep on at you all to join a union
