British Empire was built out of imposing dodgy treaties, usu. at barrels of guns, w bribes & corruption. Britain would break those treaties whenever it suited.

If we bear the long & ignoble history of Britain breaking international treaties in mind, it becomes clear how ahistorical & disingenuous the ‘shocked’ & ‘outraged’ tone of much of UK news coverage is. Media & Public should discuss this as old standard practise, not a shock move.
It’s not as if we have to go back far to find these dodgy GB legal practises: eg. an invasion based on breaking of international law on flimsy, indeed manufactured ‘evidence’ that turns out to have been cooked up. Just ask millions of Iraqis who lost civilian relatives post-2003.
Eventually, every coloniser runs out of colonies. Then they try to impose their colonial tyranny back at home. It’s a mindset, the type of outlook that thinks of ordinary people as troublesome cattle to be forced out to work, even amidst an horrific pandemic, untested, untracked.
