People who bitch about headlines and “clickbait” I NEED you to understand how website traffic works. While most folks aren’t paid by click anymore, sites DO rely on traffic for a number of reasons so yeah, people are gonna write stories & headlines to achieve that
If you wanna complain, don’t read those stories? Show corporate offices that there’s a demand for stuff other than news, blogs & controversial opinions. And realize that the media landscape in general is SUPREMELY fucked. Otherwise, be quiet

In short, we live in an attention economy baybee. That’s why deplatforming works & is essential! Use your brains, pick your battles on what’s worth your time and effort. It’s hard & twitter culture doesn’t promote it, but it’s something we all gotta work on
I for sure do. I’m trying to be better but I also get the satisfaction of a sick dunk. Thing is when you sick dunk Kotaku or Polygon or whoever, I guarantee you the people in charge do not give a fuck, but the people on the ground see it & it does nothing for them
